Hi All

Was up the mountain yesterday, the gondula was working, one lift and a drag.

The mountain is very quiet at the moment, considering it was the opening ceremony this weekend, thats why so few people are showing up on the webcams.

Appeares that none of the runs have been pisted yet (except the tomba), although it was and had been snowing for over 12 hrs

Plenty of snow on the mountain (most of the snow from Nov still there) with great conditions for skiing

I did the easy blue down to Shiligarnika and was knee deep in powder, fantastic, never managed powder before but had no choice. Husband and son were sking through the trees, my son went down under the chair lift but thats a bit ropey, not quite enough snow yet.

They both skiied the ski road but very hard going as not pisted and not steep enough to get up any speed, resorted to the mountain road in the end

We skiied back from happy end to our chalet (along the road by the Tanne), probably the first and only time we'll be able to do that, the roads have been so quiet snow was not churned up (even though ploughs had been there), beats walking and carrying skis

We're had about 40cms of snow in town which now looks like a christmas wonderland, with beautiful blue skis today!!!!

So much more snow than last year

Hello Joy,
Assuming there's only 1 Applebee family in Bansko I'll be meeting you Friday 23rd as part of the Valentini Party. Phew!! what relief as it looks like we're going to be OK for snow now.. I keep checking the webcams too and can't believe how empty the place is but I guess things will really start happening this weekend. Do you think by then everything will be up and running? It would be great if you could also send some pictures to Claudio (Simon will have his email) just to really whet our appetite.
