Would love 2 head out and work in 1 of Bulgaria's ski resorts for a couple of months next year, maybe Feb and March.
Does anyone know if its possible to do this? Hopefully find some cheap accomodation (any suggestions) and try find a job that would just keep me in food and drink whilst im there - basically make enough to live whilst there.
Then spend the rest of the time out on the slopes.
Any ideas would be much ...
Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone has got any ideas on this.

Chris not wishing to put a dampener on your idea but, average wage here 20 lev a day so not very easy to survive. you might be able to find something at one of the bars with accomodation and food. suggest you need to come over and make enquiries yourself, most bars etc are manned by bulgarians but they tend to like uk touts to try and get the customers in.
That would have been brill...forgot 2 mention I'm thinking of next year 2013 though...just trying 2 work out if its possible for next year ...maybe u can be short staffed next year 2?

I am sure we will be...! You're over in March aren't you? Pop in to the bar and say hello and I can give you a rough idea of options, what's available etc around the resort.
I don't think it would be too difficult to sort sth out because as you say, you are only looking to earn enough to survive, so by working in a restaurant / hotel, you will get accommodation and free food and drinks, so the small amount you earn is basic spending money although you don't really get any time to spend ...

Will do...ill be popping in for a few beers most definately ...yea just ebough to survive would be great...do you know if I'd get much time for the slopes?...
We have people that work the evening shift (come in around 5 and work till we close, which with the forum lot can be at any time!) or people that come in at 8am and work till 5 - that's at the bottom. We need a lot more staff than we currently have (especially at the bottom!) so next year if we did the same thing, we would plan for 2 or 3 extra people....
At the top, the main period restaurants generally need is just for around 2hours at lunchtime, so you may be able get some slope time ...

Send me an email offline if you want any more info or just call in and ask and even if we don't take any restaurant / bar next season, Bobby knows nearly all the owners and can help give advice.
