re: YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY

Hi Pete

Like most other people that have taken the time to reply to this thread I've found the site to be both informative, helpfull and often entertaining (some of the guys share my sense of humour).
The daily updates from Kas have helped to put my mind at rest that things are improving and should be fine when we get there in late Feb (fingers crossed).

As I will be a first timer to Bulagria this year, it would be great to see a "New to Bulgaria" section that gives some usefull tips and advice regarding items such as travel adaptors, money (amounts etc), bars, ski lockers, hotel info etc. I know that this type of advice is always subjective to someones particular point of view, but I for one would much rather receive this type of advice from people with local knowledge than commercial sites that are looking for gain.

Always positive and helpful eh Fiona - and you have many times been the one exploiting it by trying to hire out gear and sell ski lessons!

If you are so against it, why do you frequent the site?

Cool

re: YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY

I agree with the up to date webcams, and maybe an inter active map showing positions of cameras, maybe a google 3 d map, which I know I've found useful when looking at other resorts, showing pistes, but it's still a good read on here most days

re: YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY

The main problem with the Bulgariaski websiteis that it's so out of date. A few examples:
The latest photo report for Borovets is of the report opening on 21 December 2008.
There's a section entitled "New for 2007" under the Borovets piste section.
There's no update on the progress of the SuperBorovets project.
As others have said, there should be live webcams.
This forum neds a complete overhaul. It needs splitting into sections eg MyBulgariaInfo, Snowheads, SkiDVD.
You should be able ...

You should be able to see only posts since your last visit, if you wish.
There should be a list of forum rules. Some people using this forum have not used one before, so how are they supposed to know what the rules are?
Regarding advertising. If someone posts a question eg asking about accommodation or ski hire services available it's daft if owners of those services can't post information about it without being accused of advertising. This is quite different than someone posting afresh advertising their services.

lol @ 'Fiona' pot and kettle comes to mind!! or is it andrew hiding behind 'fiona' anyway CGAF,
Pete a point does arise , when people ask about prices and packs etc, there is a fine line as to whats acceptable and whats not, and 'Fiona' does have a point where theres a delay on the site getting back to people, and as such they are only actually passing on the custom to Samokov Ski School or to Borosport, maybe there could be an arrangement with the site and other vested interests, ...
