Yagoda Village

There are a group of us flying out to Bulgaria on Sat 17th staying at Yagoda Village cabins in Borovets. Never been before so if anyone has stayed I would like to hear what you thought of it. Very Happy

re: Yagoda Village

Just got back from Borovets on Saturday, stayed at Yagoda village with a group of 7. Perfectly comfortable cabins, nice and warm. Restaurant was O.K, though we only ate there the first night. Only draw back is it's a good half hour walk into town or a taxi ride away (10 lev about £3.80, standard taxi price in the resort). Had a great time, snow was good and I have all my limbs intact. Oh yes theydon't have any Ski lockers or at least that was what I was told. Try Bar Salamanda and ask Dino ...

re: Yagoda Village

The cabins are very basic but ok.
The food in the Bar is better than some places in town and a little cheaper "if your paying."
The bus to town is a nightmare use a taxi only 10 lev. Two buses in the morn at 8.50 and 9.30 going back to the village at 1600 and 1630. with a free bus every hour in the evening.
If you need to buy things go to Jimmi's supermarket its a lot cheaper than the shops in the center.
Go out for food every night its so cheap
Try Mama mia's
Franco's pizza

The Blue is a must but book a table as its very popular.

re: Yagoda Village

Yes at the side of the Pod lift theres a cash machine. Credit cards are a waste of time in Bulgaria and only change your sterling at the Banks or Hotels.
Get a reciept from the ATM's to check when you get home.
I think there is a crown exchange at the recep of the Village this is better than some but use a bank if you can. Theres one just up the road from Pete's bar only 60 yards and next to the titi bar.
As your up that way you may want to try the Mountain Rescue place for food heard it ...

re: Yagoda Village

Please Gemma, note this 10 lev is no normal rate for a taxi drive from the villages to the centre, it will be only 3 km so all offer 4-5levs is a rip off, normally the km cost 60 to 80 stotinki in the winter in the resorts.
For 8 to 10 you can go to Samokov town 10 km away. In Sofia you can cross the full dity for 10 levs. You have to haggle about the price before you go...
