hi stayed in the zodiac last march and its very clean and warm, staff were very friendly and there was a wide variety of food on offer. but its about a 15 minute slightly up-hill walk to pubs, lifts etc...nice walk though. they do have mini-buses running every half an hour or so from about 8:00am and from about 4.00pm for the return. failing that there was always a couple of taxi drivers hanging out in reception. the bar was open 24/7, well if you can wake the barmaid and theres a ...

We stayed there last year SoB. Splashed out a bit more for the balcony rooms, and was well worth it. The first night they had messed up our booking and put us in the bog standard rooms which were just above the disco and LOUD !!! despite the fact there was no-one it. The balcony rooms were absolutely fine and functional.

Its a bit of a race to get the free mini-bus each morning and gets very crowded. We never attempted to get one back, there were four of us, so taxi's were cheap enough. The same was true for going out in the evening and there are always loads of taxi's around.
We are heading off on saturday but are in the Rila again (as per our first trip), the food is still rubbish, but after a night of drinks its easier falling out on the slopes ;-) Bring on the snow
