What with all the reports of no snow (although I really have my figners crossed that you're gonna get some soon) would I be crazy to book a week in Borovets at Feb half term (17th)? Never been before and hoping to learn to board. Will there be enough snow or should I be all traditional and go for somewhere French (not that their snow looks much better!)?
The chances of no more snow before the 17th are slim. However I would recommend Bansko over Boro. The nursery slopes have some of the best snow on the mountain at the moment due to the snow cannons and constant piste grooming. With more snow sure to fall before the17th, bite the bullet and book. Hotel Lion can be heartily recommended.
personally i would wait till a week before and book something last minute? My boyfriend tried to get me to do the same thing and book last minute for February (he has 30 years experience of skiing/boarding, i have none) but i wouldnt listen and booked for the beginning of February at Borovets back in October. I am now kicking myself because last minute deals are available with up to £400 off pp in places like Austria and France. (luckily he is a nice man and hasnt said 'i told you so...' ...

I am now spending each day frantically waiting for the snow to arrive, as i really dont want to dissappoint my three young daughters who have been so excited for months now at the prospect of skiing for the first time..
if you say so.... have been reading all the reports from people who have been and also spoke to someone who has just come back and the conditions don't sound ideal. what should i know anyway..
one of the problems is that the number of last minute places in feb will be limited as some people have alrady postponed their skiing holiday until later i.e feb.
Another factor is that feb usually is the busiest month and a lot of those places are already booked.
the liklihood of bad snow is feb is remote,,,,,,,,very very remote
If you read this correctly it says that the 'chances of NO more snow' are slim...not the changes OF snow....I took this to mean that there WILL be snow...maybe I am wrong ? A case of the eats, shoots and leaves here ?
Too many double negatives, me thinks!
I'll send some of the rain we've had here in the North West to make snowclouds if you like! Any more and I'll have webbed feet.
