We use Insure&go have the platinum cover for about £100 (no excess to pay) but covers for skiing, water sports, diving both eupoe and worldwide. Used them last year and had an accident in Lapland and had to be flown home (Levi to Helsinki to Heathrow and then a taxi to Birmingham) they were very good and when we did take issue of some items they refused to pay for they did pay up. Have insured with them again this year.

re: annual insurance

get the annual cover to start at the beginning of your skiing holiday, and if you have no claims, book next years earlier that way you get two ski trips in the insurance.

It's not worth going for the cheapest travel insurance if you are going skiing, many of the cheap policies have high excess charges and more importantly don't provide adequate cover for injury, accident, loss of equipment or piste closure. If we had not had a good policy last year i dread to think what would have happened when I had my accident. Insure&Go paid for the medical expenses I incurred in Lapland, paid for 3 seats on the flighs home so I could have extra space and then covered us ...

Insure&Go paid for the medical expenses I incurred in Lapland, paid for 3 seats on the flighs home so I could have extra space and then covered us for curtailment of the holiday, lift passess etc. In all, I got almost half the cost of the holiday back, skiing can be hazardous no matter how good you are there is no accounting for the actions of others, pay the extra and get the right cover.
