I'm staying at Rila on the 17th feb, first time so can't comment, I was advised to book this hotel and I've heard good reviews since. As long as we get plenty of snow everything will be fine.

Clean, next to the slopes but the food can be dodgy at times but overall good value for money...

Public areas in the hotel are nice everything is clean, rooms are basic but immaculately clean and as warm as you want. If you have a studio room it has a cooker ours was just the room and if you have this option take a travel kettle with you. We had a room with a balcony at the front looking directly onto the slopes was superb holiday and great value for money.

DO NOT go to i think it was "snow bear" left hand side of slope on the corner, Found a menu that was cheaper than the one they gave to us tourists I challenged this and stood my ground so just be a bit wise, Snow wasn't brill so slopes busy and by saturday when we left the slopes were ice more than snow. But had an excellent time would go again. if any of our group are on line HAPPY NEW YEAR Crazy gang

re: any comments on Rila Hotel??

Rila is fine, would recommend eating out though, its not much to buy food anywhere really, but its always better than the hotel food. Nice sauna, hot tubs etc for a few levs, pools free and cold aswell.... Yes its next to the some of the slopes, but the slopes from the gondola down the road are much better and very very much quiter than the ones outside the Rila. Even if you struggle a bit, I would seriously recommend the longer and quieter runs. Have fun, cheers
