looking into going to a bulgarian resort in the next month or so. All the comments i have read seem to have been left by begginers who sounded like they had the time of thier lives. However would this be the same for experienced skiiers/boarders as all my friends are convinced Bulgaria is not the place to go, whereas I want the cheapst holliday I can get. hello
looking into going to a bulgarian resort in the next month or so. All the comments i have read seem to have been left by begginers who sounded like they had the time of thier lives. However would this be the same for experienced skiiers/boarders as all my friends are convinced Bulgaria is not the place to go, whereas I want the cheapst holliday I can get. Can anyone offer any advice for someone that had boarded in most parts of France/Italy and Austria and how it genuinly compares with the rest of Europe.
I have been boarding nearly 10 years now and my budget decides where I go, I have been to 3 valleys and Italy before and although Bulgaria doesn't have the extensive array of pistes its still excellent value for money!
I am going for the second time to Borovets and taking a group of experienced like minded people, there may be only about 50km of runs to do but hey, do them again and again and you find new bits to do around the edges and trees, Also ask the locals and they can point out ...

you want to go to bansko it has the best piste and offpiste out of all the bulgarian resorts it was recently featured in whitelines magazine as one of the top 7 affordable powder spots in the world, and rated as Gigi Ruf's favorite place to ride. i have been to both borovets and bansko, and am going back to bansko this year as the riding is so much better. The night life isnt as good as the other resorts buit if you are looking for good quality boarding then go to bansko.
been boarding 10ish years it as good as you want it to be dont listen to any board snobs they are proberbly able to go every month during the season. its one of the best places for a boarding holiday (in my opinion0
id ave to agree with all the above, been bpoarding 8yrs (9this yr) and ive been to France, Austria, US, Andorra and Bulgaria, and although their arent the number of runs in say the alps the quality of them makes up for it, as someone else mentioned the night life in Bansko is quiet but by no means boring it has bars and clubs and is a really good resort, im goin back for the 2nd time in 2weeks - i am not limited by cost either its a choice and value thing!
thanks for such great input. Wasn't expecting so much advice. Guarenteed these comments will all be printed out and taken to our holliday meeting tonight as ammunition for my Bulgarian Alliance! Thanks again, v excited about it now cheers guys
lol? u obviously haven't met my friends! 10 people with different budgets all wanting to go to a different place at different times... these details rarely take care of themselves.
