any one know of a exceptional ski boot fitting service any one know of anyone can do this

Hi, after a number of years of badly fitting ski boots due to my very odd sized feet and high in-step, my feet are now even more damaged from wearing ski boots, went to see a specialist last week and may even need an op

anyway, get to the point!!! my company offer employees up to £2000 a month for a wish, my wish is to have some ultimately fitted ski boots and checking the web for someone who specialises in this, anyone know of a professional company/person who offer more than what snow ...
Hi, after a number of years of badly fitting ski boots due to my very odd sized feet and high in-step, my feet are now even more damaged from wearing ski boots, went to see a specialist last week and may even need an op

anyway, get to the point!!! my company offer employees up to £2000 a month for a wish, my wish is to have some ultimately fitted ski boots and checking the web for someone who specialises in this, anyone know of a professional company/person who offer more than what snow and rock currently can do (I already have moulded inners and they are little use, I know of the new service they provide with the new inner that is foamed to fit but they are not sure that will work ) Crying
if I manage to convince my company my wish to have comfy ski boots is greater than someone who wants to go to italy to learn to play the sax or Japan to learn some kind of martial art I will hopefully get my wish...

any suggestions

Colin Martin at Solutions 4 feet has a terrific reputation amongst the skiing fraternity in the UK. He doesnt sell boots himself but he has access to a few good ski shops close by and provides a full fitting service. As an alternative Lockwoods in Leamington Spa have a very good reputation as well. They do sell boots so lots to try on, good old fashioned custoimer service and the guys know their stuff.

Gill, what did your specialist say?

I got my first pair of boots at the back end of the summer and they were a bit uncomfortable. I put this down to breaking them in and told myself they would improve. Then a couple of months ago I spent a full day at the Snowdome on a course. After 4 hours I was in agony. Thought I wouldnt be able to get down the slope. After a 10min rest without the boots I went back on only to find that after another hour I was in agony again. I went back to the bootfitters to try and get them adjusted. The bootfitter did a shell check and within 5 mins had referred me to a podiatrist. The boot did have enough room so there was another problem. Since being referred I have had xrays, a biomechanical study etc etc and I get some custom orthotics fitted this coming Friday. Along with some stretching exercises for my calf muscles and the orthotics Im hoping this will do the trick.

The upshot of this long ramble is to make the point that, no matter how good a bootfitter is, sometimes you need some professional medical help (hence asking what your specialist said) . There are hundreds of potential reasons why you may be having problems with your boots not neccesarily because the boots are a bad fit. A good bootfitter however will have enough experience to identify possible other causes and refer you to a specialist. I have found out from my specialist that simply making more room in a boot where other problems abound wont help and can make matters worse. Hope you get it sorted Very Happy

its not the boots, its my feet Sad I am being referred also to a podiadrist but to be honest other than them looking at the problem scratching their heads and telling me I am a very interesting case thats about all I have got out them for most of my life, the guys at snow and rock run off into the back room when they see me walk through the door... Very Happy hey I am not moaning though I love to ski just would prefer a bit better fitting boot... and it could be a lot worse... so long as I drink ...

Very Happy hey I am not moaning though I love to ski just would prefer a bit better fitting boot... and it could be a lot worse... so long as I drink the zambuka the pains seems to disappear the more I drink Very Happy there is no room in my boot for one of my feet Very Happy I am a size and half size diff on each foot! and the ultra high instep means the pain is on the top of my foot where the high instep pushes it up... I am always the one at breaks with my boots off and on occasion my socks off and my foot in the snow to stop the burning sensation its sheer bliss when I do that Very Happy thanks I think my next step is the orthotics fitted thingys...
