Mike

We are first time skiers going to Borovets 22/1/05. We are a family of four ages 42,42,8 and nine. The women are pretty nervous about the lift. One they don't know what to expect and two they are scared of hights. Any help or advice or tips would be gratefully received. Also do you know of the Zodiac Hotel if so whats it really like food etc.

Thanks Phil

must say the allocation organisation was the the only complaint we had so try and get it straight with the rep ,we just ended up finding our own instuctor but it worked out fine in the end ,we qwere all beginners and we stayed 2gether as a family

re: back from borovets

One tip Phil, on the 4man lift... it does travel quite quickly so when hopping off at the top, make sure you have your bum right on the edge of the seat, hands ready to push you off and skis on the snow, as I have seen many people leave it too late and end up on the lift back to the bottom or having to jump off often hurting themselves. This is a MUST, as the last thing you want is a big bruise on your bum or a broken leg.

let me say phil i am scared of hights andalways feel i should grab the post on the way up.
When i first skied at glen coe i did not put the barrier down cuss no one had told me. I only knew when i got to the top.
For your first time in school there will be no prob.

Ive been skiing and boarding now for 20 years and i still remember my fear.

you will all have great fun just enjoy Booze Booze

re: back from borovets

Thanks for the offer. Can you confirm that the new 4 seatter is up and running. This is the one to the left of the Rila if you are facing the slope, and not the one where the ski school is.

Thanks

we really liked the Iglika,it is a lot smaller and friendlier than the biggeer hotels but still well placed for the slopes because u can just cut through the Rila, the food was fine ,good selection and plenty of it if u are not fussy, some people expect a bit much but we loved the hotel, staff very friendly, nice bar, lovely swimming pool and sauna etc, depending on how many of u are going your room might be a bit small,we were in a family room for the three of us and it was a good size with a n ...
