Concur with Dave - actually the earlier report from a few days ago was spot on - the pistes are still (Monday) packed but now with Russians not Greeks and become quite badly cut up by lunchtime. The number of people on the far blues (10, 5) as well as the top run down from Todorka to Platoto gets crazy and dangerous at times. The two runs down to the furthest lift are closed but curiously the lift itself works. Not bad later when the snow softens up. Tomba itself is icy but the Chalin ...

The two runs down to the furthest lift are closed but curiously the lift itself works. Not bad later when the snow softens up. Tomba itself is icy but the Chalin Valog are both pretty nice and uncrowded. Go early - any later than 830 and you're in a 40 minute queue for the gondola - enjoy the hardpack whilst the Ruskies are sleeping off the vodka frenzy of the night before and head for the ungroomed runs / Chalin Valog from 12 onwards. Expect rocks/trees in even groomed runs and plenty of 'memories' for your skis......
It was icy again, and there were bare patches. But snow is forcast over the next few days, so fingers crossed. It needs it
They are using the cannons, but mainly on the slopes that will be used for the womens Down hill. That route is well covered with snow now. probably how they claim there is a 90cm of snow.
It is not too busy, i went up at 09.15 and there was not really a queue, only on the stairs.
Let's hope the snow does fall then, we are out on Sunday and really looking forward to it but don't want to be limited too mch, nor do we want to be skiing over bare patches... i.e getting stopped almost dead!
So out of the 70km piste how much would you say is skiiable decently? or even half decently? Also, all reports say that all runs open does that mean the slope for the women's downhill is skiiable?
Sorry, another question, is the full ski road ok? We were hoping to do some night ...

It snowed all day today, The snow was a bit slushy though, still when they piste it tonight it should be good.
