im heading for bansko on the 3rd. iv not been to bulgaria before but have skied in the alpes.if snow is on the cards will more slopes/lifts be open?

Things are looking promising from the first week of january - snow that is. It's certainly cold enough so any precipitation is likely to fall as snow. My money would be for a great January, especially towards the end of January judging by what I am seeing at the moment.

Re. prices, perhaps a rise but not across the board, still cheap places, lift pass as Nightmuffy said has stayed about the same, am a little disappointed about the mountain, prices have definately risen there, and with the poor exchange you do notice it.
Try the `Todorka Restaurant' at Shilligarnika, check out the menu, white cheese banski style (hot in clay pot) for 6.80lv, delicious and filling....
