When we could be bothered to venture outside from the fab Kempinski hotel, we found Bansko to be a bit 'meat on a stick' around a smokey log fire or Brit sport bar, footy on the telly. When our snowboard instructor took us out on the town for the night, it started with the same old meat on a stick by smokey fire, cheap plonk with tedious cultural dancing, however she then took us to her favourite night club/bar in the centre of the newer part of town, can't remember the name but a fab place all white cube seating and cool music, so ask the ski instructor where they go out, ours didn't turn up for the lesson next morning. Apart from that night we found it all a bit depressing and vowed to never leave the Kempinski should we return.
We went on the bar crawl on the first night with our Crystal rep who was Bulgarian he took us round loads of different types of bars including one that all the snowboard instructors went to which was great. We did end up in some nightclub which was a bit seedy. But it was an experience. Try the bar crawl you will get a good feel for the place
