japster,
myself and family going out on the 23rd as well will be my 4th time but 1st time with family, you can get on the gondola from around 8am but the chair lifts going to the top wont be open until around 8.30 but you can walk up the learning slope its not to steep and have a mess around with the kids until your ski school starts otherwise if its anything like last year you will have to Q i don't really like the idea of doing the Q with the family but i can't really see them getting up ...

Japster,
Do you like curry, only asking as the hotel we stay in does a curry night on a thursday, the owner James lived in india for a while and mastered the real ways to cook a curry so if you like curry you will love his.

Staying at The Lion and going on the 23rd Feb from Manc. Kids aged 12,13,14yrs. Wouldnt worry about the first day and getting kitted out and lessons it always seems to fall into place if not a little manic but im sure youd expect that with lots of people trying to get up the slope.
