re: bansko

ohhhh dear you're in trouble jax. Pete and the others are gonna slag you for having the affrontery to ask such innocent questions...

Personally I don't believe they've ever beeen to Bulgaria. They just sit at home in front of their computers and pretend to know. Infact this whole website is probably one big joke.

Or not.

Who knows.

I went to Bansko for the first time in March this year, having previously been to Borovets 3 times and once to Pamporovo. In my opinion, for skiing Bansko is easily the best. There are plenty of runs, the scenery is fantastic and the were no queues for any of the lifts.

We stayed at the Pirin hotel, nice rooms and pool/sauna/steam room. The bus to the gondola every morning was regular and always on time. Food was OK.

Apres ski is much quieter than Borovets/Pamps but there are ...

Apres ski is much quieter than Borovets/Pamps but there are loads of mehanas and restaurants to try.

Overall I would say Bansko is the best place in Bulgaria for a ski holiday, and I would also recommend Balkan Holidays even though they seem to get some stick on this board!

Hope this helps

Topper & Jax oh come now never been to Bulgaria indeed!! Topper if you dont behave I shall have to send you more pictures! Jax The Yorkie terriers went to Bansko this year and had a good time they posted a report you should still be able to read it if you do a search. Bansko has had loads of redevolpment done in the last couple of years and does sound very good. Plus it is still a traditional village so give it a go. Very Happy
