Silly question but important - know nothing about what we can drink - alcohol obviously! whats the local beer like? do they have an equivalent to cava for us cava swigging ladies and can you tell me about the local wine!! thanks!

The local beer is about 3Lev for 500ml (just under a pint) so it's just over a £/pint. And apparently the local wine is quite nice, as the female part of out party kept telling us. Booze

Tanjette posted a while back about some award winning wine from Bulgaria, not sure it had bubbles or not. good luck its a week or so ago.

It's nice. All those things, yes, fizzy wines & whites & reds & spirits, dark beer & light beer (lager?). There are also imported (ie recognisible names) but y'won't be needing to bother with them! Sample everything it is a holiday Very Happy

Is this your back up plan for no skiing? I would rather stay tee total & get out & see the historic & cultural sights of Bansko. Could you fit a few bottles of the fizzy stuff in your case?? Smile

oh! you've just reminded me, I brought back a few bottles of fizz years ago, I have a crater in the plaster on the wall from the cork thing flying out Smile

(pomerie region I think, but no worries, bulgarian wine is very good!)
