hi, im just in the process of booking a holiday to bulgaria but am not sure on which resort to choose! have spoken to a couple of different tour operators and one suggested Borovets, which sounded the most lively of the resorts and oldest resort, but then another said that Bansko has just had a lot of money invested into it, new hotels, modern ski equipment, but i am concerned that there will be building work, has anyone got any info on either or which one is best?!! need to make a decision ...

been to both borovets and bansko, I prefered Bansko for the skiing to be honest, there is a lot of contruction going on, but it wasn`t noisy, in fact, they weren`t even working I don`t think...they must have all gone skiing...
is bansko lively at night? also couple of the deals have been alocation on arrival in bansko, is it worthwhile doing that? or could you end up in a half built hotel?! also looking at 2nd 3rd week of march, still good snow?
I have just come back from bansko and found the skiiing fantastic.
As for the building work the municipality blocked all work over the ski season. The building work is all on the outskirts of the town.
Within the old town there are scores of old mehana bars, with entertainment and log fires, you cant go wrong with Bansko you will have no regrets.
bansko def the best resort. skiing is much better, more runs, newer equipment. nightlife pretty good, some newer bars recently opened like the buddha bar have stripclubs over them. building work not intrusive at all as it all on outskirts of town.
