few off us in borovets on the 27th jan, wondering how cheap the food and beer is, have heard its really cheap but not sure as its our first time to bulgaria??? anybody got any opinions???
Ows It is cheap but not dirt cheap, £200 may be pushing it a bit if you intend on eating out a lot and drinking mcuh as well. Beer can be had for around the £1 mark and you should be able to fill your face for under a tenner a head. But I understand the prices on the slopes this year in Boro have shot up much better value in resort.
I took £200 when I first went in 98 Jo and pretty much went through it all!!! It could still be done if you are half board I suppose. Think I spent the best part of £500 last Jan in Pamps for 2 people and that was eating out every night so not bad really.
Beer 3levs about £1.10
Happy hour in most bars gives you 2 shots or cocktails for 6levs...
happy hour at the Buzz barr from 2330 till 1330....2 for 1 on all cocktails....
11 of us eat at the black cat well worth a trip mate great food, anyways 11 eat and drunk for £14 each Fab food good wine cold beer...
Dan it doesn't get cheaper mate
i spent £260 on 1 week over new yr...eat out every day and night..
I reckon a family of four who want to eat and drink well will need about 150 Lev a day - large 'English' breakfast 8 Lev, snack for lunch, nice meal with drinks in the evening....few more drinkies thrown in for good measure ! A decent grilled meat meal costs around 10 - 15 Lev (£4 - £5 approx). Go for the local brews such as the local beer, vodka etc and it's dirt cheap - good too ! 150 Lev is approx £50.00 - it may have gone up but it's still not bad is it !!
As everybody has said it is cheap, but beware if stopping for a snack at the top of the mountain. They charge 5.00lev for a small bottle of water and 5 lev for a mini Mars Bar !!
