Paul. You need to say who you are booked with and where you are flying to / from. Differant operators use differant carriers. We booked with Balkan and went Manc to Plovdiv in an old Tupolov last year. I believe these are still being used on these routes this year but can not confirm that.Liam

yep they use them on all routes they have got 2 second hand airbuses now &are v.proud of the fact.

We flew out last week in an old Tupolev 154m (Balkan Holidays Air), I'm not a plane buff but when examining what can only be described as a Trabant of the Skies, I thought I just had to remember the model so I could type it into Google on our return.
It was pretty old (154m's first flew in 1968 but I think this was a few months later
) and the interior looked like hand painted job, they ran out of beer and water but at the end of the day it got us there in one piece; and with all the ...

We flew back on an Airbus A320 which was much newer, slightly more reassurring, but at the end of the day took the same time as the 'Trabby'.
So yep, old planes still about but can't say it was a real problem.
