Brian,DO NOT, DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT buy cigarettes in resort -- they WILL be fakes (trust me on this).
Try and buy at sofia when you land because when you fly home the duty free can be hit & miss -- (they may be open if they can be bothered)

got mine for the wife in duty free [shes fussy] more exp than last year about £24. didnt like fags from resort last year, said they were fake, wouldnt know as im a non smoker.

was in borovet on 30th Jan but picked my cigs up at Sofia airport in arrivals as last year when i went to get cigs to take home (L&B) the supermarket would only sell me one carton.
This year paid 19 euro per 200 at the airport and if you pick some up in arrivals you can pack them in your case on the way home. Not too sure about the limits but i did bring 5 cartons back with me this time

Just home from Boro and bought 1000 Lambert and butler from the tobacco shop at the Flora Hotel. They were 39 lev for 200. I also bought 200 L & B at eh airport for 45 lev, the packs are identical. A couple of years ago I bought L & B from one of the bars and they were fakes, theses are not.

Guys, do they sell cigars at the airport at a reasonable price?Is the duty free shop obvious on arrival or do you go on a tour?

Even the L & B we bought at Sofia airport were fakes - believe me they were awful.The B & H however did appear to be genuine.

Bonded Victory White, similar to Marlboro lights, nice fag... 34lv or cheaper for 200... Although counterfeit fags were widespread, they are becoming rare now, and were normally foriegn brands...
Buy bonded (with tax bond) at marked price, not fake...
The limit has been raised from 800 to the accepted amount for personal consumption by UK customs and excise (bless their cotton socks (imported !!), that is 3200, but i must admit that i do not know of anyone who has taken back that amount... ...

The fag shop in Sofia Airport is just after you have gone through passport control. Don't think it's duty free but they do sell cigarettes.
