going to pamporovo. will First Choice transfere us to another resort in bulgaria as there is hardly any runs open an no snow!! When we booked it we asked them will there def be snow that you are able to ski on and they asured us there will be! Not looking forward to going after reading everybodys posts! Can anyone tell me some good news. Plz.
I know the feeling. We are also going to Pamporovo and was sold it based on the short transfer time from Plovdiv, compared to Bansko being 3 1/2 hours now received the tickets and we are flying into Sofia which is a 4 hour transfer!
Going to the travel agent tomorrow to see if we can get moved to Bansko as it appears to have good snow cover, plenty of runs open and now a shorter transfer.
The only chance you have of being transported to another resort by your tour operator (and a long transfer it would be too) would be if ALL slopes in Pamporovo were closed. The same goes for insurance claims. If just one slope is open, then the resort is classified as being open and you will not be able to make a claim.
Sam - I have made the trip from Sofia to Pamporovo at least 15 times by coach. Almost every coach will stop at McDonalds just outside of Plovdiv for 30 minutes for refreshments and comfort breaks.
With this break the transfer will take approx. 4 hours. Without a stop it will take 3hrs 15 mins minimum.
The bell sellers are great, bought three and they now hang on the christmas tree. Great memory every year. Its not that bad plus the comments have been ripe off Bansko too!!
