We are booked with neilsen coming out on the 9th. We phoned them but the above posts are right, their best advice to us was to get good insurance. We took out insurance with them which covers for piste closure. Our main worry at the moment is just actually departingfrom gatwick on Saturday! good luck with whatever happens anyway

As I understand it, you can change resort but Neilson's will charge you through the nose to do it, nearly the cost of booking a new holiday plus admin fees, so really not worth it.

We take the Neilson insurance as it has Piste closure cover and looking at some other threads, Neilson have been providing insurance letters.

Hope you have a good time, whatever the weather, we are due out on the 16th Jan for a week and then again on 6th Feb, so i'm practicing my snow dance as I write.

I can confirm that Crystal ski will also not change the holiday - they also say that only insurance will pay out. They said that providing they make the offer of another resort (Bankso) whilst you are staying in Borrovets they have done all they had to. It would be worth calling them if you have 14 days to go - they will then change and you will only lose a portion of your holiday price. There are really good deals to Andorra at the moment.

re: changeing holiday will they

The lift piste companies will do their best to keep at least one run and lift running to keep the piste open thus not being able to claim!

Phillip - I beleive neilson pay out up to £500 for piste closure under our policy.
