We ate at the resturant at the side of the MURGAVETS HOTEL can't remember the name but they seem to always have a pig on a spit in the window great food and good atmosphere, about 28 lev for 2 meals with drinks ( a bit under £14) and went on Bulgarian folk night with Balkan and that was very good, loads of free drinks and fresh roast lamb off an open fire ( they cook it around 7 hours) and they do a veggie option which looked super

The food in pamporovo is okay, but why dont you try out some restaurants in the nearby village Smolyan? There you will meet the local people, and eat where they do. The prices are also half of the prices in Pamporovo.
when we finish skiing usually have a couple of beers in the pool bar at the perelick.see you there or get in touch and i will give you my mobile, ive got pp number in case he is there.
A taxi to Smolian will cost you around 10 leva, but you can also ask the driver what it will cost you. When you get to Smolian you can just ask the locals for a good restaurant. They are more then happy to help you. We live private in a small village called Ustovo (my friend is married to a local girl) so we prefer to stay away from all the other tourist. In the smaller villages you also get more in touch with the locals, and it seems they look at it as a prestige thing to have forreign ...
