Hi Matt. I got back yesterday. Booked with Crystal.

You dont get to choose, but, depending on where you stay, will depend where you get your kit from.

Samakov hotel has it's own kit and it's pretty good. Well maintained.

Rila hotel, flora hotel and a few other major ones use Boro Sports and it's not great to say the least. So would suggest you bite the bullet and hire from one of the other places.

Hi Matt- agree with Paul-
we have found samokov gear ok in the past- whereas Borosports very poor (in our oppinion)-
Try Hunters or another rental place if you can, if you do get Borosports ask them to wax and edge upon reciept if your not happy with them!
Have fun!

re: equipment hire in borovets.

I've just booked with crystal too, although I'm waiting to add on the fact that I want ski hire! Glad I have now reading this.
Where is best to hire from?
With crystal it was going to be about £140 (sorry not sure of that in Euros Confused) hoping to try keep it about the same price..but if it's bad service obviously better to pay a bit more!

Rob. Hire from Hunters. It's next to te gondola so easy to pick up each day. Good quality, well maintained kit. Good service. Great instructors. And only 40 quid for the week!
Just google hunters. Have fun!

re: equipment hire in borovets.

If you have paid in advance for a ski/board pack then you get no choice.
If you have not booked anything in advance then the choice is yours.
I think that if you are a complete beginner or maybe you have been a couple of times, then go for a package, it will do. If you are better than that then you will probably want something better. There is a lot of choice when you get there. If you end up with Borosports ski equipment say from the Rila, if you ask they will also wax and grind the ...

Rob / Steve

Send me an email and I will suggest several schools who I think are good, along with prices and discounts.
