Ive read the postings on exchange rates but would someone be able to tell me if its best to change cash at the airport or in a bank/hotel in Borovets.

re: exchange

Very little in it. The rate changes daily but not significantly enough to worry about. Just change it as and when you need to.

in borovets the rate is alot different between the banks and hotels.so try and change most of your money in the banks.

re: exchange

the best place for exchange money are the banks in the resort. i dont think its a good ideia to exhange money on the airport (bulgarian or english it doesnt matter) or in the private exhange on the main streets in the resort.there is a high commission.try to exhange your money in the hotels as well.but the best rate you can get is in the bank.i hope my advice is helpful for you!
enjoy your holiday!

re: exchange

NEVER CHANGE YOUR MONEY AT THE EXCHANGE BOOTHS ON THE STREETS. They may appear to offer large rates but they are a con. If you read the small print these rates only apply if you change huge amounts of money at a time.
You will in fact get a very low rate, and the armed security guards are there to protect the cashier from your anger, not to protect you. These are privately run by con men and MUST be avoided. BE WARNED. Only change your money at your hotel reception or at a hight street bank ...
