my 24yr old son was quite ill whilst staying in borovets last week, he had been boarding for a couple of days when he started to complain of feeling very light headed and nausaus, very tired and unable to eat anything, he was belching constantantly and stated that he had never felt so unwell, the doctor diagnosed him as having FLU, i am interested to find out if all you other guys had the same FLU symptems.. i have never known flu to be like this, unless of course bulgarian flu is different ...

there are many flu strains so it will without doubt be "different". same risk as anywhere else really but just more so in such a compact resort such as Borovets
nothing you can do except have a good time whilst you are there and hope you escape the lurgies
LOL@Ian.............. I have had a flu type virus for about 4 months, i eventually went to my doctor and was told "welcome to the club" , i went to Pamporovo on 2nd jan for 1 week and felt fantastic, mountain air cleared my sinuses. Came home, felt like pants again, went back to Pamporovo on 22nd on Jan, everything cleared again.... it was the best tonic ever!!!! ......... nothing to do with the food!!!
Sorry to hear your son has been so poorly and his holiday ruined. I'd get him down the doctors just to check him over. 'Flu is rife around here at the moment with headaches, dizziness and sore rather than upset tummies.
Developed an occasional cough on the flight home from Pamps, by the time I arrived home I had a hacking cough, banging headache and no energy at all. This afternoon is the first time I've been out of bed for 3 days. I'd be interested to know the duration of this 'flu' or should I see a doctor before I exit this world?
Fantastic holiday tho'
