Cheryl,
I'm with charliemoonheads post. Aldi and Lidl tend to sell great accessories for skiing, such as thermals, goggles, gloves etc. They also sell some excellent 'snow boots' but I think you've probably missed the boat this time round. Your kids are older than mine (5& but we found it CRITICAL to keep your kids warm!!!!! My kids went toboganning in Hemel Snow centre in trainers and were in tears by the end! We bought snow boots from Aldi just after Christmas and they've worn them during the snow we've just had. No problems. Feet like toast. You can buy them for grown ups too! You can get them from Snow & Rock, but if you are on a limited budget try Mountain Warehouse if you have one nearby. Enjoy your skiing.
Sports direct do Karrimor shoes for £16 which I bought for my 13 year old (size 10s). Would only wear them whilst we were away but good solid shoe for the ice and snow if all your doing is walking around the village/to and from the ski wardrobe - and you know they can't reisist jumping in any piles of snow they see! He also wore them there so not a problem with luggage allowance!
