getting worried

Going to Bansko on the 9th Jan. Went last year and there was plenty of snow but webcams indicate it seems patchy just now and there doesn't appear to be too many lifts open. I am beginning to think I should have booked the Alps as there is snow.... Anyone able to confirm what Bansko is like at the moment?re: getting worried
Bulgaria is always patchy at this time of year. A lot off people will tell you that all European ski resorts are the same but this is just not true. Its the price you pay for a cheaper holiday. I'm flying out on the 8th and i'm keeping faith in the snow gods but Bulgaria is the same every year and you just gotta be ready to spend time in the pub which i personally don't mind! Don't be to worried and don't take to much notice of the weather sites as most the times they don't have a clue.

I hope that is the case chris as I fly out on the 16th!!Albeit we are going to Borovets....but I'm becoming concerned with the lack of snow! Its my first time to Bulgaria so don't want it to be a bad start by not having snow.

Mate its great here if the lifts were open there is loads of snow and the fake snow is great on the lower slopes!! dont worry

Rob- my right knee allways gets sore if im about to go skiing and theres great snow (funny but true!)- its getting sore again and out 16th with you!

I was in Bansko last year (first week of January) and found the skiing good on the upper slopes, but struggled to get up there cos it was Russian New Year and the queue for the gondola was horrendous. The lifts were closed most of the week, which compacted EVERYBODY into the lower slopes. Horrendous. I am returning this year on the second week to give it another chance (also go to Alps every year), so I am hoping there will be snow and less queuing.re: getting worried
Well Ian, in which case i know it sounds awful, but id like your leg to hurt a little more as we are guaranteed some more snow!Dont worry....Il get you some Rakia & Ibruprofen to numb the Knee!
Im still excited for the trip! just slightly worried about the conditions! ahh well, nothing i can do to change it is there!!

Dont worry- have a feeling we will be fine!Waiting for Kas to say where "our " meet will be (even though we will have a daily meet in the hotel!)
Seriously though the years when i have had injuries (Knee or back)- have allways been good ski years and have had to limit my skiing!)- had a bad back this year (still not good) and my knee is getting sore!- looking good for snow then-
Thats my forcast! based on nowt!

Ahahaha, well im sorry to hear of your miss-fortune and pain! But hopefully it means good for the rest? 
Iv been looking on the Borosport cams today as Iv been away from home for the past week or so, so not been able to get onto view the cams, but there seems to be snow most places?
Ye we will see each other in the Hotel for sure!
Iv been reading up and apparently its not good if you get to the check in desk and the attendent says 'turn left'? ahaha
But its only a place to ...

Yeah- i know- turn left 3* apparently- but as you say- its a place to get your head down, have a few beers an all that!generally decent reports though so should be ok!
