goggles or glasses?

Hi,
Need some guidance with my headgear, what do most people wear, glasses or goggles?
I also have a tiny pinhead and don't want to look like a muppet, what do you recommend?
Borovets on 21st, see you there!
Cheers...

re: goggles or glasses?

It's horses for courses really.

On a clear day glasses are cool but if it is snowing the snow can get behind glasses and you struggle to see anything (not good when travelling at 50mph on 2 planks).

It is well worth paying a bit extra and getting double glazed goggles.

Also, one final tip - buy the best gloves you can afford. I spent £50 on mine and they were only just good enough!

Have a great time.

re: goggles or glasses?

my fiance put a post on the snowboard club uk forum regarding this subject. the general consensus is this (and i agree): if you ski; do want you want, you've already sold your soul to the devil (hehe!!) if you snowboard, never EVER wear sunglasses. its not big and its not clever.

in all seriousness, up at the top of a mountain where the UV light can be more damaging, all the gaps around sunglasses are just gonna let the stuff right into your mince pies. sunglasses fall off - there's talk ...

in all seriousness, up at the top of a mountain where the UV light can be more damaging, all the gaps around sunglasses are just gonna let the stuff right into your mince pies. sunglasses fall off - there's talk of some geezer witnessing the arm of some fella's sunglasses stab him right in the eye (don't know how true this is) and they just look daft.

if you're thinking that skiing/snowboarding is something you'd like to do more often then get yourself to a shop and try loads on. you're bound to find something that suits. just make sure they are double lensed and it may be wise to get persimmon lenses as they are an all round colour which are suitable to most light conditions.

it takes all of about 5 minutes to get used to goggles, so ignore people who bleat about how hard they are to adapt to, they've already decided that they look cool in shades (probably wear them to nightclubs too). you'll find that they assist your vision, keep your face that little bit warmer and you'll just feel that little bit more protected.

that is my sermon over.

re: goggles or glasses?

Hey Kel what's all this posing time? It's ok for the advanced but the nearest I came to posing was when I came to rest with my feet at the top of a snow drift and my head at the bottom - better luck this year hey?!!!
