Hi, I need some new goggles and also noticed last time that there was a fair bit of north face gear for sale out in borovets. Is the gear fakes/copies or are they the genuine article?
Depends where you buy them from. If you buy from one of the shops then they are real. If you buy from one of the stalls, obviously fake. But, saying that, my daughter bought goggles last year in Borovets and they were no cheaper than the ones she bought in UK
Last season I purchased JKT RRP £170. Paid £39.
Pants RRP £129. Paid £39. and Lid£ 59. paid £24.
I have to tell you a funny story!
I was on the slopes waiting for the lifts and some one shouted my name! I thought to myself who the bloody hell is that! As I had a camo troures Jkt and lid to match I was hopping not to attract any atention...

My nightmares had come true ...yep a couple of money brokers i now and yes load and brash and very flash.
One of them said to me: Wicked Camo lid where did you buy that! I replied T K max and they all burst out laughing. ( they had all the exspensive gear but totally no IDEAR)
So it goes to show you you dont need to buy from top stores.
What type are you looking for do you need any help?
Best Googles are Oakley with the A frames so you can change lenses for different light exsposures.
I'm going to Boro on the 28th & its my first time on the slopes. Am giving boarding a try & obviosuly wanted to look the part but didn't want to blow a fortune. Got all my gear from TKMaxx & although I'm sure I can't have gone too wrong with jkt, bottoms & gloves I'm not sure my goggles will cut it as they only cost £17. They're made by Sinner & are CAT 2 lens with anti-fog & increasing contrast(?) Do you think I'll be upgrading when I get out there or are the chances good that these will be ...

blue,
just enjoy the boarding fella. the goggles will be fine, having all the big name gear doesnt make it any easier to learn. lets face it youre gonna be eating snow most of your holiday anyway
ive been boarding for over 20 years and ive never bought stupidly expensive gear, there really is no need..if youre cool youre just cool, no matter what you wear.. first time i went i wore one of those bright yellow two piece waterproofs suits the fellas wear on the roads..
If I am buying new gear, I always buy last years stuff (The sort of gear that you pick up in TK Maxx). It is usally half the price. Infact, I bought a pair if Sims gloves from TK's only 2 weeks ago. I would expect to pay about £30 quid for them and paid £12.
Your sinner goggles will be fine and no doubt you will look the part.
But to be honest, forget about the style, steez or fashion(With the exception of one piece suits and 1980's dayglo campari!). Just enjoy your boarding! ...

After all, it's all about the enjoyment and not how we look. Have fun and keep coming back for more. You'll be suprised how addictive this whole snow sports milarkee can be.
