My advice is the same I board have been for about 6 years now and best idea is to get lessons to learn how to control your speed and board. Skiers do not like it when some dude on an ironing board is plouging in to them!!
Best investment you could have is a pair of impact shorts, because [through experience] you will spend most of the week on your butt.
Have a great time persevere it will be worth it.
PS. a couple of at lunch helps!
Impact shorts a must to protect your coxcyc. Also dont get too cocky when you think you can link turns. Take it steady (Unlike me on my first trip sprained my ankle, out the game for 6 months).
Have a good un, also watch out for the Skiers lining across the slopes drinking campari whilst wearing wearing safari suits
watch your blind spot! once you get going and find forward motion simple you'll realise there is a blid spot behind you which almost always has a skier coming at you from a 45degree angle!
After a while you get used to glancing behind you on the front edge turns!
