I enjoyed my week in Bulgaria skiing, however, as an experienced skier with my own boots and skis I felt the odd one out whilst staying at Pamporovo. The set up is totally catered for novices. Everyone leaves their hired skis, poles and boots at the slopes and then jumps on the coaches in normal footwear - No dramas. SIMPLE! For me though, the twice daily coach trip to and from the slopes became a nightmare for me as I trundled onto the coach carrying skis, poles, boots and my little rucksack. During which, all the beginners looked at me like I'd just landed from Mars. The drivers cannot be arsed to open the storage hatches so you end up navigating the narrow alley in the middle of the coach to find a seat lugging all you kit. This is made worse by the fact that you cannot wear your ski boots on the coach and must carry them. Not a big point but it did become a pain for me!!
Why must everyone on this board belittle anyone that makes a bad comment. Not sure I'd trust my skiis to anyone and the Canadians can run that same type of ski bus system perfectly. Bg need to realise it's place in the world and either buck up or keep its prices down!!
Please allow people to pass negative comments otherwise you run the risk of appearing to support outmoded practices that continue in this wonderful country.
its ok being an experienced skier, but some people want others to recognise them as an experienced skier. Also being an experienced skier doesnt mean that that they are not tight with the money. 5 lev seems inexpensive to me to, but there are experienced skiers out there that are so tight and miserable they cry with one eye!! Boom Boom
How is this for penny pinching? If 5 lev ski storage is too much then why not get them waxed 4 nights and edged 1 night, still 5 lev per night but they have to look after your skis/board for free then they wont turn the business away believe me
Nice one marleen, I mean bob, I like it !!! Storage and free waxing.
I bet you fly out ,you check your car into a garage close to the airport to have a new wiper put on. Save on the car park fees and pick your car up a week later.
