helmets

Would a ski helmet described as 'suited for springtime' be ok for skiing in Borovets February. Alpina ORA helmet.
wanted to buy helmets for self & boys but wondered if there was some reason this would not be ideal. Like most don't want to spend a fortune, 1st time skiers.

re: helmets

Well alot has been said on this forum over the last few weeks about helmets, and for the first time i wore one on this skiing holiday...

The good points are they are warm, comfy, and have air vents so your head doesn't itch like when you wear a beannie,oh and they could save your life in a accident..

Caroline,Timbo's wife had a bang on the head last weak, also Gibbo had a tiff with a tree,oh and i used my head as a brake when i wiped out on the grave yard and my helmet stoped me just ...

Caroline,Timbo's wife had a bang on the head last weak, also Gibbo had a tiff with a tree,oh and i used my head as a brake when i wiped out on the grave yard and my helmet stoped me just before the trees  "eat snow"

Bad points well apart from the style factor and i happen to think i look a tad sexy in mine, then there are none...

Through the week Fraser clocked some pretty large speeds up, :irked: and hear and there i wasn't to far behind :byebye: and if you wipe out at 10kph or 60 kph its a fair bet you could hurt your head.... Surprisedld:

So don't be foolish wear a lid it just might save you a rather large head ache or even your life !! rant over... Smile

re: helmets

Has it got a lot of vents or something aimed at keeping your bonce cool during spring conditions, seems an odd phrase but if it's a ski helmet, can't see why it won't be fine, in really cold conditions I have to wear a thin hat or hoody under my helmet to stay warm.

re: helmets

They say you should never wear any thing under a helmet, something to do with impact protection..

Mine has small vents all over it..As long as it's ski grade then i don't see the problem...

re: helmets

Well mine come with a warning saying that nothing should be worn underneath...

I think the clue is in the "incorporated" yours come with Beannie included, So should properly others differ...

re: helmets

Did hit my head, novice snowboarder took me out on a steepish ice patch in Bansko last year, very glad I was wearing a helmet, bit of winded and a headache but no harm done. www.bernunlimited.com check out the Brentwood Mad
