helmets

can anyone tell me if it is compulsary for older children (11/12yrs) to wear helmets in ski school in borovets?

No it is'nt,but i would not let my kids ski without one..

Was out there on the 5th and saw a few head injuries...

I wear one and to be honest the new ones look pretty cool..

I just got one for my 13 year daughter TKmax £16. and she is really happy with it.

Russian boy died last year with head injury.

Not a risk i would take with our kids!

Kids have a no fear can do anything attitude so a helmet in my oppinion is a must.
Always wear one myself because I don't believe I'm invincible either

If you watched the skiing on tv this morning, you all be wearing helmets. A pro skier slammed his head on to the floor at about 60 mph from 10ft in the air. He was air lifted to hospital with severe concussion. It was horrible to see. He was wearing a helmet, good job he was to.
Please encourage everyone to wear a helmet.

Couln't agree more. Have just been watching ski Sunday with my kids and saw the crash. They always wear helmets but I'll be making sure I get one this year. I doubt if I reach speeds of more than 6 mph (!!) but if somebody hits you and they are doing 30mph it aint going to be pretty.
