Jason, thank you very much for all the info. after thinking about it all day, i believe i won't postpone my trip and try to cope with the ice. thanks to your report, at least i'll know what to expect.
Sorry WFM but you are wrong about Tignes. I returned from there yesterday and the snow is nothing short of perfect. 147 runs open and all with excellent snow cover.
still no words steve c . like i said rocks are not my thing . please defend this resort if you can . it is a discusion board and everyone is entitalled to an opinion
there are 80 + scukers in tignes as i type and its pooh snow and conditions .... and got a few mates doing seasons out there and its not been great for weeks ...anyway you have to make what you can of what ever conditions m other nature deals us
OK OK OK - it's all melted in 24 hours in Tignes has it?
I skied from 9.30am on Friday until 4.30pm and it was superb wherever I went. That included both sides in Tignes and down to Val D'isere to the Finicular. Not one rock on reds blacks greens and blues did we encounter and very very little ice.
I would mark the conditions as 10/10. (At least the were 2 days ago)
