You either love Bulgaria or hate it i went to Borovets two years ago as a last min booking with forty people who had only ever skied there (ive been sking for the last 30 yrs europe, canada usa etc but never bulgaria) most of the gang had a great time as theyve not known whats its like to ski elsewhere. We went at the end of jan and the snow was crap sking on rocks etc but to the rest of the gang it was great. Looking back the holiday was an experience and Bulgaria not a place i would visit ...

So to sum it up i wont be going there again but thats purely my choice

Was also in Bansko last week and have to say the snow conditions were getting worse as the week progressed. The ski road is almost like skiing through thick soup and is starting to show rocks and grass. The upper lifts are all closed. It is possible to catch the chairlift to the top restaurant, but the runs are patchy in places, slushy and dangerous if you are unable to control turns. I saw a lot of skiers struggling to maintain control, especially when they suddenly hit a patch of slush. ...

It is possible to catch the chairlift to the top restaurant, but the runs are patchy in places, slushy and dangerous if you are unable to control turns. I saw a lot of skiers struggling to maintain control, especially when they suddenly hit a patch of slush. ice or rock. A good dump of snow is needed. We managed to ski every day at a good level, especially down Tomba, which was in condition, but if it continues for another week or so it will be poor.
