1. £250 - 300 per person for a week in pamps did us fine this year.

2. I would be tempted by 2 weeks, but maybe 1 week in one resort, one in another..

3. a swimming pool is a must I think, and also a nice bar to relax in after the days activities! & a safety deposit box in your room that you can't pick up and take out the room!!!!! (take note hotel pamps!!!)

4. I don't mind the bulgarian staff, they just need to be happy!!! But to say an advantage for English staff, then yes ...

Good luck

Hi,

My wife and I just got back from Borovets last Saturday, we had a great time, my answers are as follows: -

1. £200 - £250 per person was plenty for one week B & B.
2. 1 week was enough, two weeks maybe if we had a few excursions and a Sofia city trip or similar may be of interest. 10 days maty be just right.
3. More honest/generous accomodation, we had a villa for six between four people, it was a squeeze for four & equipment, you'd never get 6 in their. Hotel food was very poor ...

Good luck,
Darren

4:would like to see a few more smiles from staff
5: get rid of the beggers and also stop the hassleing to get you into the bars.

re: honest answers and help needed

1. I spent about £250
2. 7/10 days
3. Good food, good security i.e. swipe card system to get into hotel and rooms, good secure ski storage (if your planning to offer ski hire, ensure professional service and up to date, quality equipment) and tea/coffee making facilities in rooms.
4. Not bothered what nationality as long as professional and friendly.

4. Sorry, forgot to say 'multlingual' would be a big advantage in a hotel that wants to attract all tourists.

1. How much spending money would you take to a Bulgarian ski resort? We almost managed on 100lev each a day but spent quite a lot on the dreadded and went for a few meals out too, (that is a comfortable £50 each a day on half board)

2. Would you ever consider a two week break? Got back from one only 6 days ago Smile fantastic time

Spends: I've taken £400 for myself and the girl for the past 3 years, each year the amount left over has got smaller, but we've never run out. Not at all scared of spending either.

Time: I would consider a two week break, definitely. I'd like to have days off skiing to explore the area, with a week I always feel I have to be doing something active. (probably would never be able to wangle that amount of time off work in winter though Sad)

Facilities: kettle or coffee maker in rooms/apartments. Access to swimming pool and massage. Somewhere secure to store valuables. The ability to decline the daily badly making of the bed & a way of controlling the temperature of the room.

Staff: absolutely no concerns with nationality of staff, but attitude is important. It's nice to not feel as though you're inconveniencing someone by being on holiday Smile

1. 2 adults and 3 children - we went for 7 days and spent 900 lev which included 3 lift passes, kindergarten for 1, ski hire, eating out both at lunch and supper (including wine in the evening) and all activities.

2. Absolutely. Its a long way to go. Yes the skiing is limited but there are lots of other things for a family to do. Gladly take the focus off the skiing and spend quality family time doing other things - would have liked to explore the area more.

3. credit card facilities, budget airlines to fly into Plovdiv

4.nationality is not important but their ability to be able to converse in English is helpful (fully acknowledge that we should learn Bulgarian but its so damn difficult!)
