Me thinks they make hotel food a bit ropey to encourage you to eat out and spend more money - don't stress - you can take leftover money home again - just exchange it a bit at a time so you don't have a lot of lev at any time.

re: how much money too take

We're goin to Boro, takin 350 between two of us for lunch, evenings, ski-dooing & night ski-ing. Reckon that'll be plenty unless we start shoppin and stuff. But then if you start to run out of money, according to Barclays website, is cheaper to pay in a shop/restuarant on your debit card than to take it out at ATM (is even cheaper doin that than converting to currency commission free(!!)) Debit card way cheaper than credit card too. Not sure if they accept Visa debit cards in the shops ...

re: how much money too take

Jenna, don't rely on your debit card if you run out of cash, quite a few people I met had trouble finding ATM's to use their card, If in doubt take extra sterling with you and change it as require.
Also most people I talked to who went Half Board started eating out after a couple of nights as they found the food in the hotels a bit bland.
We were self catering a couple of weeks ago and took £350 and we came back with a few pounds and did everything that we wanted to do.
