Seeing as the old town is a ten min walk from the gondola down the hill, you might as well take a wander about, bars, dodgy clothes and ski wear shops, a few mini markets, but it does all have a rather rustic charm about it, plenty of log fires adding to the ambiance even an outside washing machine, a large wooden vessel that a diverted stream causes a bit of a vortex for carpet washing, sort of interesting along with pretty buildings, churches etc. and a very good coffee bar, yeah go on ...

Very Happy

re: how much?

The min. is £500 for a person per week, and this is really the min. if you want to go to bars, pubs and have a great time in your vacation. The prices are up again this year, just like usual, and you should know that Bansko is one of the expensive European ski resorts.
Good luck.

re: how much?

The last couple of years I've got by on about £250 - £300. We had pizza and beer for lunch most days and eat well in restaurants every night with a few beers and a bottle of wine. If you plan to drink at the Happy End bar then be prepared to take alot more cash, as the drinks in there are at least twice what you pay in one of the Mehanas. I think we left after one pint in there as it was so expensive - very handy though!

If you run out of cash while you're there, then there are a number of cash machines over there. One at the gondola station and a couple that I know of in the town. Most cards seem to add a 2.5% fee onto the exchange rate for using their card. The only exceptions I know of are Natwests visa debit card, who won't charge anything and the Postoffice Credit card who also don't load the exchange rate.

Hope this helps!

Jim, I'm glad you said that, we thought £200 each for a right good time was well enough Booze
