re: inghams

yep.
Stayed at Malina village. We were lucky as we had the best xmas snow for last 20 years or something. Slopes will be open and busy but the condition of them can be ropy. Eventhough we had at all that snow by the end of the week some areas were getting desperate. However Im sure you will be fine Wink

re: inghams

Used them several times now. Always been pretty good. In fact I've been lucky enough to never have any problems with any of the companies I've used.

re: inghams

there will be snow up at the top of the gondola, it gets a bit thin in front of the rila due to the number of people on it, last year it was the best skiing of the year as it was nice and quiet

Hi Fraser and Sarah, saw a post from you on another site about creches. Our 2 girls are 3 and 5, which creche kindergarten should we go for?? Do you have any experiences of Rila, Samokov and the Inghams nanny service in the hotel Ela? We were thinking of going for the latter but any advice would be appreciated! This will be our first ski trip with kids and just want it all to be good, don't want tol leave them in akindergarten all day but just would be nice to get a couple of hours ...

Do they get to do much learning to ski in the kindergartens? Thanks in anticipation and any other tips for borovets would be great as it is our first time there.

re: inghams

There was loadsa snow in Borovec last Xmas/NY, but keep in mind that these are some of the first falls of the season, so it gets scraped away pretty quickly. As you would expect, the higher you go, the less of a problem this is.

I booked with Inghams last season, no major problems as far as I can remember ...

We used the Inghams kindergarten a couple of years ago when the children were 5 & 7. It was excellent and certainly gives you as adults a lot of freedom to concentrate on your skiing.

We used the Inghams kindergarten a couple of years ago when the children were 5 & 7. It was excellent and certainly gives you as adults a lot of freedom to concentrate on your skiing.

The children go out skiing each morning and then again after lunch. All kids are encouraged to ski am but some of the smaller ones stay behind after lunch and do activities in the Hotel. Some days they did bumboarding and snowman building. The Albena ski school provided the instruction and they too were excellent. For 15 children there were 2 Nannies and 2/3 instructors on the slopes. They also made a video of the kids during their lessons which meant you didn't miss out on all they did.
We saw the children several times on the nursery slopes having an absolute ball- looking great too with their faces painted!!

Lunch was fairly basic but the children had a choice and my son who is particularly fussy never complained so it must have been ok. They also enjoyed the company of the other children and as we went during half term their were others their age.

We left them each morning at 9.15am and collected them at 4.30pm. We then used to go across to the Samokov for hot chocolate and crepes before a spot of bumboarding. tea and bed!

All in all it was exceptional value as it included not only equipment hire but childcare as well. The children don't need a ski pass as they are under 7 and did not use the lifts with the kindergarten anyway.

I hope this helps.
