just back from Bansko, any questions?

Just back last night. First time in Bansko, stayed at the Orphey hotel. Not great, food horrible, room really small, 2 power cuts... Should have been the awful hotel..
Bansko was great. We actually bought an apt whilst we were out there, so any questions there please just ask.
Had a big snow dump in the middle of the week but it rained really heavy yesterday. Skiing was great, I am now a boarder. The gondala ride was fantastic for the first time.

re: just back from Bansko, any questions?

Cost really varies, depending on what you want, how close to the gondola , new, off-plan etc. They can range from a studio for about 40K euro up to a 2 bed penthouse from around 150Keuro. I can recommend at least 2 really good agents, and we pretty much saw them all when we were out there.

Give me your emailaddress and I will email you personally with there details.

That's odd, because I just spent the same week in the Orphey and found the food to be absolutely fine and didn't experience any power cuts, my room was not small either.
A very nice hotel in fact, the food might be different to what you eat at home, bur it is unfair to describe it as horrible in so offhand a way.

Well maybe you were out when the power cuts happened and I guess you were lucky with your room. Our room smelt damp and a horrible smell kept coming up from the sink. i am not being off-hand just truthful. I also spoke to a few people that stayed at the hotel and too thought the food wasnt great. It was cold (not just warm), actually cold. You had to take your own bath towels down to the pool area which was abit weird and our hairdryer in our room didnt work. When i went down to ...

When i went down to reception to ask for another they just looked at me and shruggged.
I know we were in bulgaria and shouldnt expect the same comforts and understand that the food was different but be fair, it wasnt good and I wouldnt class it as a 4* hotel. If you go in the Pirin or Lion hotel you can see the difference.

Hi Tim,

Glad to hear that you had a good time in Bansko - though a shame that you didn't hit lucky with the Orphey. I was there the week before you as you know and I couldn't really fault the hotel - I think we were slightly lucky with our room - it was on a corner and was vast in comparison to standard UK hotels! I've been to Bulgaria before so I'm used to the food - in fairness I think it gets a really bad rep and it isn't THAT BAD!!! Plus there's always plenty of places to eat out if ...

I'm thinking of buying - can you send me some details?
Thanks
