hi, just got back. Had a very good week although they are in desperate need of snow! the ski road is very slushy at the bottem in the afternoon and the top icy in the morning, mid day was the best as most ice gone. Top slopes deffinatly the best when i left. There was sopposed to be snow friday/sataday but we didnt see any off that. if you want any questions answerd i will try and help we had friends staying in different hotels , Lion, Bulgaria and Tampier apartments. the gondalla que was a ...

The town is grate and the skiing is grate once you get there

Hi Phi,What time did the ski rental place open, we have heard alot of negative things about Gondola queues and poor snow conditions. I've only got 6 sleeps til we go to the Lion hotel in Bansko so I will be praying to the Snow Gods this week. I've just got a couple of questions - did you have any problems with the ATMs and do you know if the hotel rooms at the LION have kettles (I know the room service is really cheap but our friends wanted to know).

ski rental opens at 8.30.Queues a problem last week but it was half term and a ski comp on all week.

atms in general 90pc are for the locals but UBB is prob the best to use if you have hsbc card.nearly end of season now so less folk.
ps, hotels are great but resort is in development process!

to beat the queues is simple.
Dont go to the gondola between 9.15 - 10.15. That is when the majority of people go and the time for all the people have lessons go to meet their instructor.
Either get there early 8.30 -9.00 or chill out , have a steady breakfast and get there 10.30 onwards. we did this 3 weeks ago and never queued for more than 15 mins all week.

Hi John been back a wek from the Lion. No kettles great hotel thoughafter 1st day Bring your skis and bloots back to the hotel and put in boot room there, get to gondola by 8.25 and you will miss major queues and be able to ski very empty slopes
Try the massage about day 3 or 4 Bliss on tired muscles

Hi, just got back from Pamporovo, had a good week but did not like the ice one bit - this was both at the bottom and the top of the mountin until early afternoon. Have booked to go to Bansko next yr but am now panicking because skiing on nice powdery snow is great fun, skiing on ice is no fun at all in fact I had a few falls due to the bad conditions. What were the conditions like??

Cant wait! Stayn in Villa Roka. Can anyone recommend a few gud bars and restaurants pls? We hv gone 2 Borovets for the past 2 yrs and the nitelife was fab. ~Hv bn told Bansko is loads quieter.........??
