I got back from Pamporovo yesterday evening. There were 6 in our group we stayed at the Snhezanka Hotel and enjoyed it, good food, quiet at night and central.Needless to say the snow was very poor, no fault of Bulgaria, and two of our party had an accident. I have also stayed in Borovets and Bansko and prefare Bansko, apart from the building work. I will still return to Pamps as it is so cheap and we all had a good time.

Pete it was our third time in Pamps,we have had various snow conditions on our previous visits, but believe me I dont go on holiday to moan but I definitely detected a rip off culture emerging.We went into Plovdiv yesterday and drink&food prices were afifth of those in Pamps even in a trendy cocktail bar called Atlas in the main shopping street.I like Bulgaria and her people but not all of these negative reports are from professional moaners.re: just back from pamps
just back from pamps today and i had a ball, pamps hotel is a hotel with 5* prices 3* food and 1* service. I agree that the prices were more expensive than last year but what can u do and what do u expect. Ok conditions were not ideal but we survived done some boarding and got a week off work. Met some awesome people who made the holiday what it was............Had that much fun that i even dressed up as santa on thursday and it lifted the spirit of plenty people on the slopes

mmmmmmmmm I'm a bit disappointed with all the negativity here and can't help but feel that the snow was the major factor for most of it - everything else seemed so much worse because of the poor snow.
I have been going to Pamporovo for 10 years and have seen a lot of change in that time. I have always found the Bulgarian people extremely friendly and although prices have gotten a lot higher in that time, it is still a LOT cheaper than other European ski resorts.

PS as regards the staff service standards "were rude, arrogant and ignorant", I have never experienced this service in Bulgaria, in fact I would say the opposite, however, I have seen the staff putting up with such behaviour from holiday makers - who seem to think that the staff are the foreigners and not the other way around.
