No I meant £250 for the whole week, not one night! Went out most nights, didnt drink too much but enough to not feel the cold on the walk back to the hotel. Just saying if you go to the right places it wont cost you a fortune!

Just back from Boro.
Slight delay due to heavy snow fall that started this morning and was still going when we flew.
Five of us it was our second year and for my daughters pal it was her first as a beginner.
Had a great time. If your half board use it, also if you know cheaper places than were your instructer takes you go there it's your holiday!

Yastrebets top half was good but below mid station was very stony (had to change ski's due to damage)
Rila side was a little patchy and icy but if skied sensible wern't too bad.
New 4 man chair at top very good and also a lot of entertainment as it whips round quite quickly and catches people unawares.
6 people tired happy and very satistified with a good holiday, we even survived the fire works on New Year.
Alpina for cheap beer and food.
Only downside i've gotwork tomorrow!

re: just returned

We got back from Boro yesterday, unfortunately we both have the Boro-flu, but had a great time.

Just want to say i agree with everything Mitch says above.

Snow at the top was amazing - quite bumpy after it had been skiied over a bit - good for the legs Confused
Yasterbrates was good to half way station, then got a bit rocky.

Other side, the new snow cannons are doing a good job, but fake snow seems to compact harder than real snow so it made for some quite challanging skiing. ...

All runs open apart from two and all lifts working. Was very cold!!

We also survived the fireworks, although i'm not sure how!! The hand-held type were really popular this year!

It also snowed thursday night, friday most of the day, and saturday as we were leaving; so hopefully this is good news for anyone heading out there soon.

My final word on the prices...

The prices haven't seemed to have gone up this year, compared to last year (e.g. 285lv for 6 day lift pass). However, as we are all aware, the bottom has fallen out of the £ and you'll be lucky to get 1 € for 1 £ at the moment. this isn't the fault of the Bulgarians, it's the fault of the American and more so the British government. So although it's not as cheep as it was a few years ago, or even a few months ago, please try and remember that all holidays, anywhere is Europe, will be more expensive at the moment due to the exchange rate.

On the + side, we thought the quality of food had improved on last year; and Aimee and Arie are still at Alpina, where you can still get a large beer for 75p in happy hour!

I hope everyone heading out there has a wicked time and a real laugh!

Very Happy

re: just returned

Some good reports and most people seem to have had a great time, going for the fifth time end of the month and looking forward to it. So to all alps doom and gloom it just shows that most people will keep going back to Bulgaria and have fun Razz

re: just returned

Someone here said if you have HB use it, but is it good value? We booked BB, but can pay a bit extra (about 70e each) for HB. Should we?
