Inghams today have said kids do not need their own passport and they say all their messages are recorded i said that doesn't help if turned away at the airport however balken say you do need one does anyone know the facts ?

Poor you!! I would personally go back to Inghams and ask why it it is on the official Bulgarian website that 'children need their own passports' from Jan 06! I believe you need to put pressure on the travel company, because as you say, the last thing is to be turned away!!Ask them to put it in writing if they insist you do not need them!! Good luck. we have had lots of problems today. Our kids are on our passports and we went to Bulgaria last february no problems, When my husband read about the kids passports last night we checked into it. We phone Bulgarian Consulate today and they say that the kids need their own passports or they will be denied access into Bulgaria. We are going next saturday 4th and my husband has got to do a four hour journey to cardiff tommorrow to go to the passport office to get our kids passports that are ...

By the way we are also with inghams and I will be straight on the phone monday, because we have not been notified of this we found it by chance on the internet last night. They should have informed people travelling to Bulgaria of the new legislations.re: kids passports
As a matter of intrest have you taken your children abroad since Feb as i was on the understanding that all children had to have their own passports

Yes we have been to Turkey, even travelled to Bulgaria last January, we was on the understanding that kids could travel on your passport until it had to be renewed then they would have to have their own.re: kids passports
Orpin,Read our earlier message yesterday.
We travelled to Durham yesterday, 230 mile round trip to get 2 kids passports.
If you pay £83 instead of £70 they will give you the passports in 4 hours. BUT they do not advertise it.
We came home with the passports last night to be met by two very happy kids!
However, I think I will be chasing Balkan/Travelcare for the costs I have incurred as they couldn't be bothered to tell us of the changes.

hi chris went to newport south wales paid 83 pound x2 waited a hour and half and got them . what a relief i will also be on the phone to inghams on monday as i want some answer as they new about the change in december have a great time skiing we r off to borovets staying at the malina
