been looking at the webcam over the last few days and the ques for the lift at the bottom of the wall look massive... flying out on the 3rd of march and just wondered if anyone knows whats going on....
well, someone better tell all the hoards of folk who skived off last week then It was certainly a holiday of some description - whether it was nationally or locally it was certainly a holiday and was certainly very busy!
It is simply weekend with saturday and sunday which are designed for hols. And people skip more or less the whole of friday to stretch.
THERE ARE NO holidays until the 3rd March trust me.
Locally if few groups decide to go on holiday that doen not make it National official .
Students in Bulgaria have plenty of free time(the educational system has deteriorated a lot in recent years the demand for people wanting to go to BG UNIs has dropped and some of UNIs can even fill their places)

So I say skiers want to witness the above the average condition which is once in their lifetime and obviously skipping work/study.
Or busy places at the bottlenecks because of the strong winds which half the ski pistes in BG resorts exept Pamporovo where there is at least never a wind problem.
When the strong wind arrives, the melting starts fast.Hoping to last a little longer than usual, maybe to the end of March with a lot of luck.
Up the high parts of course will be snow beyond end of March but questions will be answered when the time comes if the resorts will decide to stay open further.

In Bulgaria there is no such thing as guaranteeing the season from certain date to certain date.
Every year dates are different and the management plays secret game.
I can forecast that maybe Borovets will stay open because of the sofia weekenders into April maybe for the Fri Sat Sun only
Pamp will shut by the end of March .
Bansko works in misterious ways.
