monastery apartments BANSKO

Hi all

Has anyone stayed at the monastery apartments in bansko? What are they like? Ive read they have plasma tv's and dishwashers...mmmmm! There are 6 of us going - does anyone know if the room with 3 bedrooms has 2 bathrooms or 1? Plus...
* Where is nearby to eat & drink?
* Is the walk to the gondola flat or a hill?
* Can we leave boots and skis at the gondola or do we have to take it back and forth each day?

Hi Madge

Sorry i can not answer all of your questions but i can tell you that the monastery apartments are very slightly down hill from the gondola and the walk takes no more than 5 minutes.

There are loads and loads of places to eat and drink nearby, you can walk from the apartments (which are at the 'top' of the town) down to the main square in less than 10 minutes - it may take longer to get back if you have too much Rakia Very Happy

Just had a call from the company we have booked with to tellme that all the facilities at the monastry are not open...ie BAR!!!!!! Fitness and Sauna room.... Sounds like time to complain!!

Its now a 3 star not 4 as all facilities are not open! there are no DVD players in room etc either!!! So its just the standard room that is available

MMM Yes I have just noticed that too ..it was def 4 star and now demoted to 3 ... Also I have noticed if you click on the link at the neilson website to get details of the appartments it bounces you back to their homepage!!!

hopefully by the time we go in 5 wks it will be better! if not, maybe we can get some money back as it's not gonna b what we paid 4!!

sounds like we should all complain and get money off. Was hoping sauna available as really good after hard day plus dvd as we are taking 4 kids........ Sad Sad Sad Sad

also 10 in our gang!!! ... and yes we fly from gatwick too!
We are a group of 2 types.... 1 family of four... (My Sister) and me and my buddies.... Basicly a right bunch of mis-fits!!
Not been to Bansko before but looking forward to it.... its just the walk to the gondola in minus 10 that im not looking forward too.
Have your lot done any skiing before?.... My gang went to Borovetts last year and had a great time.... even though we looked like complete retards!
