we are gonna take lev when we go on saturday. last year we took american dollars in travellers cheques but have been told this year that they are charging quite alot to change them into lev's. they will change most currency's they do prefer dollors or english pounds but you still get charged to change them into lev.
Lee, most recommendations on this site say take sterling rather than travellers cheques as you will get a very low rate of exchange. All the hotels have deposit boxes, so you won't have a problem looking after it!
there were 2 threads "using credit cards Borovets" on 16/01/04 and"exchange" on 15/01/04....may be worth while reading these as most people seem to say take good clean sterling note as you are not charged as much as travellers....
Hi Lee,
There is two of us going and we will probable take about £600 together this is for a week. There is 14 of us going so lots of C [] .I only hope this is enough !!!!

Certainly take English dosh, as said though, nice clean and not torn. May be worth getting some (say £50 worth) lev before you go to get past the first day or 2. Reading this site, appears to depend on if you are half board or B & B etc, but quite tough to spend more than £30 a day even if you drink loads, most bars have happy hours etc.
