re: new to ski-ing

I would advise getting ski gear from:

Internet - ski warehouses
Ebay
Decathlon
Charity Shops - may be a bit sad, but good prices eg jumpsuit £14 (bargin).

Do put sunscreen up your nose, getting burnt there is soooo very painful!

re: new to ski-ing

Other hotel to try is the Finlandia, we stayed there this year (booked with Balkan) got a free child place (upto 14 years), which made it very cheap. It is slightly further out of Pamps, but is an ideal location for a first time, with buses etc laid on in an evening into Pamps and also to the ski depot.

We enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year. Wink Very Happy

re: new to ski-ing

My opinion only -------- but Andorra was the worst place I've ever skied.
Ski storage was a total shambles with 400 pairs of skis kept in one cage and a total free for all in the mornings, an instructor who could not speak a word of English and nightlife as dull as a pot noodle.

Never again!!!!!!

Hi

Must agree with Pete. pamporovo is great first time resort. Its small, and compact. Its got a nice green run, that goes from top to bottom. And also its the cheapest of the three resorts.

For cheap skiwear try TKMax.

Moira,
best you book it now if you can, you get early discounts at this time of year with Balkan and they can save you a nice amount depending on the hotel and party size.
def. pamps no doubt about it, and try for the Murgavets it is the best hotel in my opinion also.

pamporovo is best for beginers forget andora ask anyone the ski tuition in bulgeria is second to non and all the instructors speak english, once you have learnt to ski then go to bansko as the slopes are more challenging, I would advive either the perilk or the Mourgavets as you have everything you need there and dont have to go outside, where ever you choice you will have a great time. also if you need some extra tuition it is very cheap for one to one not like other resorts you ...

Thanks again everyone, I am looking at pamporovo now as that seems to be most peoples choice, and as you have all been before, I am trusting you lol!!! The last thing can you tell me when the best time to go is we can go from the end of this year to the beg of next ie nov - march, what do you suggest? There will be my husband and I and our daughter who will be 13 then. Thanks again or your helpful answers.
